Our Message
Dear Students, Teachers, Parents and Community Stakeholders,

We are Community School Student Partnerships. It is our objective to support Penn's network of University-Assisted Community Schools in becoming hubs of community learning. Monday through Friday students from the University of Pennsylvania enter into six West Philadelphia public schools to supplement the educational and cultural experiences of students in grades K-12. We mentor children as a means to increase learning and provide an environment that fosters academic, social, and extracurricular enrichment. Based on the Freedom School model (http://www.cisphl.org/our_programs/external%20initiatives/freedom_schools.htm), CSSP aims to inspire self-empowerment in youth through increased knowledge of their heritage and history. Through this approach, we serve not only youth but also schools, parents, and community members.

We are always looking for new support and new opportunities for collaboration. If you are interested in volunteering, a work-study opportunity, or contributing to this goal, please contact us.

Sincerely,

Jamie Tomczuk
Director, Community School Student Partnerships
